  • Chiropractic.

Chiropractic care is a type of health care that focuses on your spine, muscles, joints, and nervous system. Chiropractors use the best available evidence and clinical expertise to diagnose problems that affect your body’s movement. They treat these problems without medication or surgery and endeavor to prevent them from reoccurring.

Chiropractors are doctors (Doctor of Chiropractic) that are spine and musculoskeletal (MSK) system experts specifically trained to diagnose the underlying cause of your problem, and recommend treatment options to relieve pain, restore mobility, and prevent reoccurrence so people can lead healthy active lives.

As experts in spine and MSK health, chiropractors can also recommend exercises to enhance healing and prevent relapses, provide information about nutrition and lifestyle, weight management, and a healthy diet. Chiropractic care is safe and is appropriate for everyone from newborns to the elderly and infirm.

Dr. Elliott runs a family chiropractic practice, treating all ages ranging from newborn children to the very elderly. Currently, the practice includes several young children (less than 1 year old) and two elderly females (greater than 100 years old).

There are over 100 different techniques used by chiropractors to improve bodily function. One of the treatment techniques used by chiropractors is called “the adjustment” (spinal manipulative therapy). This is a procedure that results in improved muscle function and performance and improved movement characteristics in a joint. The adjustment can be delivered using the doctor’s hands, an adjusting instrument, or the treatment table.

Finally, it is important to understand that to achieve the maximum benefit from chiropractic care, it is necessary for patients to commit to a series of treatments so that the doctor can help you. Chiropractic is not a one time fixes all type of care. That type of care does not exist! However, our commitment to you the patient is that we will do our very best to help you in the least amount of time possible.

We look forward to meeting you!

Chiropractors can treat: —Iliotibial Band Injuries —TMJ —Whiplash —Carpal Tunnel Syndrome —Repetitive Stress Syndromes —Motor Vehicle Injuries —WCB Injuries —Sports Injuries —Dance Injuries.

  • Matrix Repatterning.

Matrix Repatterning is a ground-breaking manual therapy that restores well being to incredible levels for many challenging conditions. The assessment process quickly pinpoints the underlying source of the problem. Treatment involves gentle pressure to release the hidden, deep-core tension patterns in the framework of the body. This clinically proven, science-based method can facilitate the restoration of muscle tone, flexibility, joint mobility, and relieve a wide spectrum of conditions.

The injuries, that are part of life, accumulate as layers of tension in the framework of your body. This tension is often caused by significant impact injuries like falls, car accidents, sports injuries, and concussions. We like to forget about these incidents, but the body does not forget. The underlying tension patterns can be released which resolves many painful and limiting conditions. Many complex conditions are challenging to correct because conventional therapies do not have the tools to pinpoint and resolve the true source of tension in the body. Matrix Repatterning provides practitioners with an entirely new science-based paradigm that allows for breakthrough, long term results.

Within the cells of the human body, microscopic examination shows a network of microtubules and microfilaments that provide a communication network through which the body can communicate with the cell structure both chemically and electrically. These structures are three dimensional and therefore also define the shape of the cell. The entirety of these microscopic filaments and tubules found within the cell structure are referred to as the intracellular matrix.

Between each cell and surrounding all the cells is a continuation of the microfilaments and microtubules found within the cells. The microtubules and microfilaments found outside of and between the cells are called the extracellular matrix. These structures function as part of the communication network between cells so that the body can transport nutrients and electrical stimulation throughout the body from one cell to the next. They also tie the cells together to form tissue so that when you take someone by the hand their hand doesn’t come apart into a million pieces.

The combination of the intracellular matrix and the extracellular matrix is collectively referred to as the Tensegrity Matrix. It is the connective tissue of the body (fascia).

When an injury occurs (i.e., a blow to your leg) the injured tissue will swell up and the swelling will stiffen the matrix at the injury site. (Even bone will swell up when injured!) This, in turn, will result in reduced flow of nutrients and electrical energy into the injured tissue, reduced flow of waste products out of the injured tissue, pain, decreased flexibility of the tissue, and reduced range of motion in joints.

The Tensegrity Matrix is a continuous fabric of connective tissue throughout the body, so when the matrix stiffens and causes dysfunction at an injury site, the stiffening and dysfunction is transmitted throughout the entire matrix. This explains why patients often complain about symptoms in one part of the body that are remote from a known injury site. For example, a patient may feel stiffness and a pulling sensation in his/her rib cage that never goes away even though it has been treated multiple times by several different health care practitioners.

When a person sustains an injury, the pain and dysfunction may eventually go away, and the person will believe that he/she is okay. The body will do its best to correct the problem and the symptoms may dissipate. However, in many cases, the problem has not healed up properly and will remain in a dysfunctional state. Even in cases where the patient has had some type of treatment (chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture) the injury site may not be fully healed even though the patient is symptom free.

Matrix Repatterning is a very light force but powerful examination and treatment option that provides Matrix practitioners with the ability to identify where the problems are and then correct them so that the tension throughout the Tensegrity Matrix is reduced, thereby improving function of the injured tissue, and eliminating the chronic nature of the injury. In essence, practitioners are repatterning or changing the matrix.

Patients are often frustrated by an injury that never seems to get better or the same old problem keeps coming back (“Every time I come in for treatment, it is always the same problem. It never seems to get better”). This is a frustrating problem for health care professionals as well. Matrix Repatterning provides practitioners with the solution to this problem.

If you have experienced health problems that never seem to get better or keep coming back even though you have tried many different types of care, Matrix Repatterning might be what you have been looking for.

  • Massage therapy.

Massage therapy reduces pain and discomfort, improves function, and improves your overall state of well-being through the manual manipulation of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue (fascia). Massage also helps to relax muscles and reduce stress and anxiety.

Our therapist offers three different types of massage therapy: —Relaxation massage —Deep Tissue Therapeutic massage —Orthopedic/Sports massage.

Therapeutic massage typically attempts to resolve a particular issue (i.e. neck pain or low back pain) and requires a deeper, more specific, more penetrating type of work, whereas Relaxation massage is a gentler, lighter force technique, providing a more generalized treatment that provides the patient with a more relaxing enjoyable experience. Sports massage can be used to warm up the muscles prior to activity and deals specifically with the injuries and stresses associated with sports and recreational activities.

Our therapist also offers several alternative procedures including Cupping, Hydrotherapy, (hot/cold stone massage), and Lymphatic Drainage.

  • Radial Shockwave therapy.

Radial Shockwave therapy is used to treat an assortment of conditions commonly referred to as enthesiopathies, which are disorders affecting areas of the body where ligaments and tendons attach to the bone.

Examples of conditions treated with Radial Shockwave include: —tennis elbow —golfer’s elbow —rotator cuff tendinitis —calcific tendinopathy —patellar tendinitis —heel spurs —shin splints —plantar fasciitis —Achilles tendinitis —and delayed bone fracture healing. This procedure is also very effective treating: —bursitis —muscle spasm —muscle strain —trigger points.

Shockwave therapy generates an acoustic sound wave or pressure wave that causes an increase in blood flow to the injured area and is believed to stimulate the mitochondria within the cell structure. The mitochondria are where the energy is generated to power bodily systems. Increased blood flow and a dramatically higher energy level translates into a rapid healing response.

There is no electrical current produced with this procedure as the name suggests. The sound wave/pressure wave that is produced can be compared to the retort that is produced when one fires a rifle or strikes a nail with a hammer. It is the acoustic sound wave that stimulates the tissues and produces such a dramatic healing response.

  • Laser therapy.

Therapeutic medical lasers heal tissue ailments by injecting billions of photons of visible and/or invisible laser light deep into tissue structures. Tissue naturally contains protein strands called chromophores and cytochromes located in the mitochondria of a cell. The mitochondria are where the body generates energy to power all bodily functions.

The chromophores and cytochromes are believed to absorb the laser light energy and transform it into chemical energy for the cell. This chemical energy is utilized by the tissue to significantly accelerate the healing process and reduce pain in the body naturally.

Laser therapy is completely painless and very safe.. Most patients don’t feel anything as the treatment is administered, while others may feel a very mild warming sensation.

  • Trigenics.

Trigenics is an advanced neurological muscle assessment and training system that instantly reprograms the way the brain communicates with the body to immediately remove pain, amplify strength and movement, and improve muscular performance. Trigenics, itself, is not a treatment technique. It is a total full body assessment and treatment “system”.

Trigenics is a “multi-modal” treatment system. The complex multi-modal procedures used in this system simultaneously combine three exercise and treatment protocols for a much greater therapeutic and training effect than ever before thought possible. It is unique in that it combines a number of different treatment “techniques” which are applied at the same time to gain a much greater effect than that which would be achieved by only applying one.

Trigencs is a light force technique where patients are interactive participants in their own treatments, both mentally and physically. This means that with Trigenics, results depend on the patient engaging in voluntary movements in very specific ways and directions against the doctor’s resistance to generate neurological reflexes which cause changes in their brain wave patterns and dramatic results in a very short period of time.

  • Ultrasound therapy.

Ultrasound therapy utilizes a high frequency sound wave to produce a clinical treatment response. The sound wave vibrates the tissue molecules resulting in an increase in temperature and an increase in blood flow to the injured tissues, which ultimately increases the rate of healing. It also helps to reduce pain and inflammation.

Ultrasound can also be used to treat bone fractures that are not mending very well (delayed fracture healing) and may be used to break up scar tissue produced as a result of injury or surgery.

Ultrasound therapy has been used for 50-60 years and still remains a useful modality for treatment of many different injuries. It is also very safe and has no known side effects.

  • Traction.

Some spinal problems have been found to respond well to traction. This type of care gently pulls on the spine in a longitudinal direction (up and down the spine) essentially pulling the joints apart or making the patient taller.

This type of care is used for certain conditions such as disc herniation or disc degeneration. It is very safe and effective and can even be used with patients that have recovered from back or neck surgery.

Traction can also be combined with other treatment options such as chiropractic instrument adjusting, Trigenics, Massage therapy, Shockwave therapy, Laser therapy, Ultrasound therapy, and specific exercises. These combined treatments often produce very dramatic results in a short period of time.
